Outset Greece supported the 4th Athens Biennale AGORA, one of the most renowned large-scale periodic contemporary art events in Greece, realised by a diverse and ephemeral group of artists, curators, theorists and practitioners in the creative industries.
Referring to the current economic situation in Greece this years’ starting point was the simple question ‘Now what?’. The discussion around this quandary led to the creation of a collective experiment, a social event, a space for the exchange of ideas and a setting for reflection and critique.
The main venues of the Athens Biennale were the National Bank of Greece, a historical building that formerly housed the Athens Stock Exchange, and CAMP Contemporary Art Meeting Point at the very centre of Athens. Besides these physical meeting places, Agora provided a digital platform for exchange by addressing an open call to the creative world via its webpage and facilitated online discourses through #ab4agora.
The 4th Athens Biennale included more than seventy artists showcasing over one hundred works of contemporary art. Between 29th September and 1st December 2013 the public was invited to take part in a rich program of discussions, workshops, roundtables, speeches, educational programs and guided tours.
