Outset has provided support towards the realisation of Groundwork. Described by founder and curator Teresa Gleadowe as "a season of contemporary international art in Cornwall", Groundwork unfolded across the south of the county from May to September 2018 in a rolling exhibition programme that encompassed events, performances and artworks.
May 2018 saw the beginning of this season of international art. It included field trips, residential workshops and an engaged educational programme. Participating artists included internationally celebrated luminaries such as Steve McQueen, Francis Alÿs and Christina Mackie.
With an emphasis on moving image, sounds and performance, the 2018 programme, supported by Outset, included presentation software, important new commissions and acclaimed works by internationally celebrated artists in venues and outdoor sites across West Cornwall.
