In 2020, Outset UK supported a major site-specific commission of permanent and temporary works by Lucy McKenzie for Art on the Underground at the iconic Art Deco Sudbury Town Station in London
For her first UK public commission Scottish-born, Belgium-based McKenzie utilised the unique heritage site of Sudbury Townstation to create a suite of original artworks that interact with the station's history and architectural design features to create a 'period stage set'. The commission comprises a number of elements: two permanent hand-painted ceiling murals featuring maps of the local area; a highly detailed architectural model of the station which will remain on permanent display; two large billboards installed on each platform; and a series of posters which will be on display until November 2021.
