In 2014 Outset India supported Sonia Khurana's project Oneiric House: round about midnight, in collaboration with Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, New Delhi.
Sonia Khurana has engaged with, and articulated the poetics of dwelling and dereliction for more than two decades. In Oneiric House: round about midnight she created an installation that inhabited the dream house both physically and metaphorically. Using the performative mode she navigated the overlapping boundaries between the interior self and the outside world, while weaving poetic narratives and encounters with diverse people, with physical spaces and with herself.
Oneiric house was inhabited by a series of symbols and a seemingly disparate cast of characters: somnolescent mother, insomniac daughter, sleep-wrestlers, sleepers, slumbers and music-makers reside in metaphoric abodes that stretch across oceans and dry land.

Born in 1968, Sonia Khurana is an Indian visual media artist. She holds Masters degrees from London’s Royal College of Art and Delhi College of Art. From 2002-2004, she was a research resident at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. Her international practice includes exhibitions at the Centre Pompidou (2011); the Liverpool Biennial 2010; the Aichi Triennale 2010; the Gwaunju Biennale 2008; the Pusan Biennale 2004; ARCO Madrid, 2009; and Khoj Live, 2008. Her work encompasses photography, video art, installations, performance and text.
