Dear Partners,
Today in Kunstmuseum Basel, before the opening of Art Basel, Outset Partners had the opportunity to visit Cao Fei: Testimonies to the Near Future and meet the artist and the curatorial team. The visit provided first hand insight into the artist’s practice and the ideas shaping over two decades of work. This is Kunstmuseum Basel's first major solo presentation by a female Asian artist.
The Impact Award in Cycle VII funded the production of the exhibition map, an integral element of the visitor experience, which you can find here. Developed in place of a catalogue, the map guides audiences through the exhibition’s interconnected narratives and environments.
Spanning all four floors of the museum, the exhibition explores the relationship between technology, urbanisation, memory and imagined futures. The exhibition closes on 11 October 2026.
A briefing call will be arranged with Cao Fei to explore her thinking behind the development of the exhibition map. We will share further details in due course.
