Art History Link-Up provides young people in state-supported education with free opportunities to study art history in their own time. Working in partnership with major collections including the Courtauld Institute, the National Gallery and Waddesdon Manor, the organisation offers A-Level and Art History EPQ courses and piloted accredited programmes for younger students. Hosted at the Courtauld, the programme enables participants to engage directly with artworks and specialist teaching. Of the 200 young people taught in the 2024–5 year, 70% identified as belonging to an ethnic minority and 50% had widening participation indicators. Many went on to study art history at university. Through this work, Art History Link-Up broadens access to a subject that is rarely available in state education and supports the development of future cohorts of students within the discipline.
