In 2018-2019, initiated under the framework offig-legacyand supported byArts Council England, Art Fund and Outset with six partnering institutions and public collections in the UK,fig-futurespresented 16 fig-2 alumni artists outside London. Activating the same curatorial framework asfig-2, 50 projects in 50 weeks, each venue organised 4 exhibitions in 4 consecutive weeks embedded in their programme.
Building on each artist’s ongoing practice and presenting exhibitions in a new and different environment,fig-futuresaimed to reach out to new audiences. Alongside the exhibitions, integrated public events and curatorial exchange, the partnering venues offered opportunities for activation at each venue with the application of the time-sensitive structure. Artworks by each exhibiting artist were available for gifted acquisition into respective partner venue collections.
