Outset is delighted to have supported the exhibition ‘Exquisite Farces’, a culmination of Nour El Saleh’s 3-month residency at VO Curations. The exhibition also marked the artist's first foray into the wider world following on from three years of study at The Slade School of Fine Art, London.
El Saleh captures an alternate world, which combines elements of the various places, mental and physical, that she recalls from the opposing perspectives gathered in both London and the Middle East. With her childhood spent in the UAE, a host for impermanent residents, El Saleh’s comfort was in a constant state of flux, and through the work she grapples with a sense of belonging; deceivingly familiar settings are tensed with anguish and actors, and through this use of dramatic yet comical imagery, El Saleh reconciles these two forces.
ON VIEW: 5th September — 11th October 2019
